The Krewe of Zingaro, a not for profit, social and charitable organization was founded in January 1997. The Krewe goals are to provide fellowship among the members and the community, take part in charitable and non-political civic causes and participate in various parades and celebrations in the Tampa Bay area.

The name Zingaro means "Gypsy" in Italian. As long as you have a little "Gypsy in your Soul" you are welcome to join. The Krewe is open to all men and women and couples.

We Dress Like Gypsies, Too:
Our costumes and floats are based on colorful gypsy caravans that will create dashing romantic images of freedom and fun. Male and female members dress in brightly colored shirts, blouses, pants and jewelry to emulate the raucous spirit seen around the Gypsy campfire. Sample costumes will be provided. Men will wear dark pants and take care not be mistaken for pirates.

The Krewe is governed by a seven (7) member elected Board of Directors and also include the founding members as non-voting Krewe advisors. The Board consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Float Chair Community Service Chair, and the Immediate Past President.

The Krewe also elects annually a Monarch, King or Queen, as an honorary position, bestowed upon a member of the Krewe who has shown their commitment to Krewe values over the past year.
